Our values
Persea Oils and Orchards Ltd. Is located in Makongeni, Thika, Kenya.
We provide direct employment to more than 100 factory employees and more than 1000 indirect jobs through different suppliers and farm activities.
Persea Oils and Orchards buys certified Fair For Life fruits from our fair trade partner. The produce is purchased directly from small scale farmers. By doing this we ensure direct benefit to the farmers, making sure they received a fair price for their produce and the best advice in farming practices.
The farmers have been able to benefit indirectly through improved livelihood, working conditions and environmental practices, advice on improving crop production and quality, as well as increased income hence helping in financial stability. Our farmers are currently Global Gap and Organic certified and we are also in the process of certifying our farmers with Fair For Life certification.
This includes offering trainings on Fair for Life standards to improve their knowledge on Fair Trade as well as improve their access to best markets and ensure fairness for their hard worked produce.
Persea Oils and Orchards has a great impact socially and economically in the region and we are continuously working hard in expanding our network with farmers and Fair For life Customers, ensuring that we lengthen the benefits that we offer to have a greater and more significant positive impact.
